They can surpass Lithium in a number of crucial ways though. \u00a0They charge and discharge in seconds (not the current hours) and maintain all this over many tens of thousands of charging cycles.\u00a0 Graphene is also derived from cheap as chips Graphite \u2013 not pricey Lithium metal.<\/p>\n<p>So is Graphine just a pipe dream? Well, supposedly not:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cGraphene Supercapacitors Ready for Electric Vehicle Energy Storage, Say Korean Engineers\u201d \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.technologyreview.com\/view\/521651\/graphene-supercapacitors-ready-for-electric-vehicle-energy-storage-say-korean-engineers\/\" target=\"_blank\"> MIT Technology Review<\/a><\/li>\n<li>\u201cGraphene supercapacitors created with \u2018traditional paper making\u2019 process, rivals lead-acid battery capacity\u201d &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.extremetech.com\/computing\/163071-graphene-supercapacitors-created-with-traditional-paper-making-process-rivals-lead-acid-battery-capacity\" target=\"_blank\"> ExtremeTech<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% #efeff0; display: inline; float: left; width: 580px; margin: 30px;\"><b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.graphene.manchester.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tech spec<\/a><\/b><br \/>\nGraphene is a two dimensional material consisting of a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a honeycomb or chicken wire structure. It is the thinnest material known and yet is also one of the strongest.
